HWID binding is how a key system stops key-sharing — but most platforms bind a key to exactly one device, so every user who buys a new PC files a support ticket. Vampauth lets each key carry up to 10 hardware IDs (your choice per project), with instant resets and full history, free.

How binding works

  1. 1. Key activates. The first machine that redeems the key gets it bound — its hardware fingerprint is stored server-side against the key.
  2. 2. Every check verifies the device. Your script sends its fingerprint with each key check. Unknown device? The server answers accordingly — no silent sharing.

Why multi-HWID beats single-HWID

Single-HWID systems treat every device change as an attack, which means reset tickets, angry users and slow support loops for you. A generous, configurable HWID count keeps the anti-sharing protection where it matters — one key spread across a server of freeloaders still hits the device wall — while letting honest users move between their own machines. What is HWID binding in a key system?

HWID (hardware ID) binding locks a license key to the specific device that first activates it. When the script runs, it sends the machine's hardware fingerprint alongside the key, and the server rejects the key if the fingerprint doesn't match. This stops users from sharing one key across a Discord server or forum.

How many devices can a key be bound to on Vampauth?

Up to 10 hardware IDs per key, configurable per project. That covers legitimate users who switch between a laptop and desktop, while still blocking group sharing. Many key systems allow only one device per key, which generates support tickets from honest users who change machines.

What happens when a user changes their PC?

Developers can reset a single bound HWID or reset the entire key from the Vampauth dashboard, the Discord bot, or the API — instantly, with the key's history and stats preserved. There is no per-reset fee and no waiting on a support queue.

Can HWID binding be bypassed?

Client fingerprints can always be spoofed locally, which is why Vampauth validates on the server: the key check runs server-side with HMAC-signed requests and signed responses, so tampered clients can't forge a 'Valid' answer, and admins see every execution and HWID change in the dashboard.

Does HWID binding cost extra?
